Erika Gavenus
Erika Gavenus is a Postdoctoral Scholar with the EDeN group at PennState University through the Social Science Research Institute, working with Dr. Guanqing Chi. Her research considers the many ways food systems of coastal communities are interrupted and renewed, and the implications they can hold for human well-being. Erika completed her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Terre Satterfield at the University of British Columbia Vancouver within the interdisciplinary Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability. During her PhD, Erika used a theoretical lens of food justice and mixed-methods to examine how fisheries regulations can challenge food access for coastal First Nations.
