Isabel Rivera

Isabel Rivera is a fourth year double major of Geography and Community, Environment, and Development with a minor in Politics and Public Policy. She has earned a certificate in Environment and Society Geography, and is finishing up her certificate in Justice, Ethics, and Diversity in Space.  She is passionate about growing an understanding of human-environmental interactions through integrating local/indigenous knowledge, long term impacts of colonialism, and ecological degradation driven by economic systems. Isabel works on various research projects and manages team media platforms for the EDeN team.  

On campus, Isabel serves as President of the Community, Environment, and Development Club, President of Gamma Theta Upsilon - Geography Honors Society, and Recruitment Analyst for Alpha Delta Pi International Panhellenic Sorority, Delta Kappa Chapter. Additionally, she works as an undergraduate advising assistant in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education.

Isabel is one of Fall 2025's new EMSAGE Laureates and was also named as one of this year’s Rock Ethics Institute Undergraduate Ethics Fellows. For her fellowship she is working with, and being supervised by, Dr. Ida Djenontin with whom she is co-authoring a publication.
